Wil Durbin

Director of Strategic Advisory

Turning complicated public-sector opportunities into pragmatic strategies that can actually be executed.

About Wil

Wil brings a broad perspective to Strategic Advisory, shaped by rural Ohio roots, experience inside one of the country's most dynamic city governments, and work across state, federal, and international policy environments.

As Director of Strategic Advisory, he helps clients make sense of challenges that sit at the intersection of government, funding, economic development, and business strategy. Combining rigorous research with a practical understanding of how public institutions make decisions, Wil helps clients identify a path forward and turn ambitious ideas into strategies that can be funded, supported, and executed.

Before joining LNE Group, Wil served as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he worked at the intersection of biotechnology, higher education, economic development, and urban policy. There, he helped negotiate public-private partnerships, develop capital investment strategies, advance major legislation, and coordinate initiatives involving government, businesses, institutions, and community stakeholders.

Wil is often most useful when a client's challenge does not fit neatly within a single practice area. His work spans regulatory strategy, public funding, economic development, government affairs, and investment positioning, bringing together specialists and stakeholders across organizations, sectors, and jurisdictions.

Wil is a graduate of Xavier University's Philosophy, Politics and the Public program and holds a master's degree in American history from Boston College. Outside the office, he can usually be found cooking for his family, working on his Tudor-style home, or chauffeuring his three children to sports and activities around Shaker Heights.
